The marriage meeting, or svozhdane as it is called in Bosnia and herzegovina, has some cultures that are a part of the region’s traditions. They reflect the multiracial context of the state and the sophisticated way of life in it. The bridal lasts for three days and nights, and it’s attended by the whole community. Gals and women help to prepare foods for guests, cook pies and food, clear grains in the fields, and sing musical songs. People perform violins and cifteli and throw marijuana to friends.

Throughout the Balkans, every region and belief has its own traditions about how a wedding should appear like. But the ones from the Balkans are specially interesting and unusual. We’ll speak about some of them in this article and give you a taste of what it was to be a bride or groom in the past.

A lot of the traditions that happen during a Serbian marriage are connected with the belief that bad spirits and demons does solid wicked means on people.
