Traditional Eastern marriage practices, such as a woman’s consenting to a man’s request to wed her, and Chinese wedding customs are disappearing as more and more young people discover their true love through dating. Yet, preserving and understanding these affluent conventions allows us to reconceptualize our ideas about love and romance.

Customarily couples were arranged by the people of both celebrations, using matchmakers. Elders did acquire a possible couple’s social status, status, reputation and financial situation. Additionally, they would examine any historical relations and the relationship between the two homes.
